Quantification

General

Basically, the SeraQuant algorithm can be divided in two main parts: detection and calculation. A brief explanation is given below.

Detection

Only a proper detection of the colored bands on the membrane surface guarantees a reliable quantification analysis. For this reason one of the main exciting challenges of the SeraQuant algorithm has been to automate the localisation of the result lines. In contrast to other existing solutions, no further manual intervention is required — neither you will be asked to mark the colored bands by mouse or keyboard nor to assign the bands to their functions in the test. The SeraQuant algorithm detects the bands automatically and independently, without reference to the membrane test being analysed at the moment.

Calculation

The calculation takes place in two steps. At first, the software analyses the color intensity by cumulating the pixels and their saturation. A high differentiability is given thanks to the 50 grey scales being taken into account by the algorithm. At second, the cumulated value is set in a calibration function, and the quantitative result can be determined. Additionaly, in each calibration curve a dynamic variance is specified.
